Lazy

Wow, I haven't updated this in a long time. No, I haven't forgotten it, but I've never had time to post. Actually, I still don't have time. Time to go to the dentist. For fillings or something. They were already put in, but 2 of them have a problem or something. No idea why they couldn't do it properly the first time.

Oh well. Come home, homework, sleep, start over. And that is the story of my life.

Nose 2

Absolutely random tidbit: the pain/paralysis of my nose was caused by a bug bite. No idea what kind of bug or how that happened (didn't we evolve nose hair to defend against this eventuality?), but it did and it hurt. But now, the pain has left my nose, and currently resides in a painful little bump just inside the entrance. Quite intriguing, really.

Word of the day: Armageddon. Wow, that's hard to spell. But really, what a great word. What a fancy way to say "annihilation", or "end of the world". Armageddon. A loquacious sounding word indeed. Mmmm.

Another thing to try: talking while you breathe in. Why waste precious seconds of talk time breathing when you could talk AS you breathe in? Huh? Try it out! Not only do you sound like Darth Vader on helium in a can with sandpaper in his throat hanging by the vocal cords from the Golden Gate Bridge, you can impress all your friends with the strange croaking noises that you can emit! Cool!

Nose

My nose is in pain. Strangely enough, just the left nostril. It's stiff and painful. Makes blowing my nose a very agonizing procedure. I think it's a bug bite or something. Stupid bigs. I should gather every pest in the world and destroy them. Muahaha. Muahahahaha. Muahahahahahahahaha!

Also working on training a pwnage Garchomp in Pokemon Platinum. Dreams ruined by stupid old lady Bertha of the elite four. How did that old lady get to become one of the Elite Four anyways? She'd probably get a heart attack from the excitement. I should catch a Haunter, use Scary Face, and hope for the best. Call a medic and go through the door.

In other news, my new computer is blazing through Crysis. And, laughably, Combat Arms. I know. Overkill, right? You don't need 4 cores and 1GB of dedicated graphics memory to play a free FPS from Nexon, of all companies. But I do. Because I can and it's free. Unlike Crysis. It's not pretty, but hey, it's fun. Plus, Crysis is downright freaky sometimes. I mean, what's creepier than shooting North Koreans at night, armed only with a supersuit, with your friends dying around you to vaguely sperm-like aliens? And does anyone else notice how similar the story is to Halo? Down to the enhancement supersuit.

Watched Star Trek yesterday. In an ad for GI Joe before the movie (you couldn't guess it was GI Joe until the ninjas appeared), this one guy's all like, "These are Delta 5 (orwhateverthecraptheywerecalled) Accelerator Suits." Other guy: "What does it accelerate?" First guy: "You."

BUM BUM.

Seriously. What does a tuxedo do? It's fancy. Who does it fancify? "You."

What does he think a SUIT will accelerate? A turtle? Other guy: "Yes."

._.

On this tangent, I would like to add that I classify the jump that the three guys made in Star Trek (Kirk, Fencing guy, and suicidal British guy who thinks he's cool by pulling his chute way too late and dying under a giant laser) as a HALO jump. Not just because Master Chief does it (without the parachute, natch), but because it stands for High Altitude Low Orbit. I mean, how cool is that? My terminology is awesome. My vocabulary is like, so pro. Lol.

Dig It.

We got the funk. We got the funk. Yeah, we got the funk. (It's actually want, I believe, but I got the funk now. Hoorah.)

Other fun things to say: (they rolleth off thy tongue with unparalleled eloquence)
Pissant
Errant turds
Bollocks
Despicable
Crapturd

and the classic

Frick on a stick in a sandwich on a styrofoam plate in a microwave.

Back in fifth grade, was it? We were scared to say bad words like piss and darn, so we made do with a word that we knew existed, but wasn't necessarily bad. No, not gaylord. I mean frick. Frick on a stick. Frickin frick. This was a good two years before we discovered Frickin A. Just frick. And it's served pretty well. A lot of my friends have moved on to bigger words, but I stick with the basics. F***in mothaf***a? How unnecessarily crude. I prefer the simple, effective, one-two punch: Frickin A. (Or, in the immortal words of Master Chief: "no u")

In other news, I have discovered the joy of Zero Punctuation. Think Simon Cowell doing game reviews without stopping for a breath with the sarcasm and wit of a rhino on crack. Win. (Find it at escapistmagazine.com. I think. Shameless advertising failure? But google it. Seriously. You won't regret it. Unless your browser is like mine. It crashes cause of some javascript error every time there's a video. Like youtube or any of these sites. I click a link, it crashes, then I can open it again, click the link, watch it. Once I navigate away it crashes again. ><)

The Modern Marvel

Ah, computers. Overpriced and overhyped until the mid-90s. And here we are, with our Gigahertz, and our Firewire, and our Clock Speed, and our Floating Point Operations, and Solid State Drives, and World Wide Web.

And now, my latest foray in the wide, wonderful world of computery (n. anything of or relating to computers). I am going to build my own computer.

I know, right? Sort of behind the curve. Those kids 'been building those compies since they were 5. And all they had was a toaster, some tinfoil, and a stick. Sometimes they didn't even have a stick, and had to use a fork. But this is modern times, and now you can pick a kit off the internetz and build using those parts. But no. Not me. For further money savings, I am totally customizing this thing. Choosing between a rather outdated, but super budget friendly Pentium D based semi-gaming computer and a blazing ultra high speed power shower ultimate awesome Future PC with Intel's Core i7 920 (2.66 GHz, 4 cores, Hyperthreading, need I say more) with an unfortunately high price. My current total comes out to like, $665. That's like... a refrigerator.

Store food, or render food?

And on the subject of these marvelous pieces of machinery, I remember something. I was at Borders once, looking for a book with which to teach myself Objective C, when a man walked in and asked for help. He came to the computer section, and I overheard the following conversation:
Man: Hi. Do you have any computer help books? I just bought a new HP computer and I don't know how to use it.
Woman: Yes, we have some right in this section. Is it your first computer?
Man: Yes. My son bought it for me. Kids these days know all about technology.
Woman: Yes, that's right. So, is it a Mac or a PC?
Man: I don't know.
Me: (Facepalm in back)
Woman: Well, you'll need to find out if it's a Mac or a PC before I can help you anymore.
Man: Would I have to start the computer to find that out?
